CHARACTER
CHARACTER NAME: Shego
SERIES: Kim Possible
CANON POINT: After 2x19, "Go Team Go"
LOSS: Her ability to say no to someone while working for them (either criminally or otherwise, though I doubt she'd be getting any other kind of job). As a sidekick, she's used to following orders and often grudgingly does ridiculous and embarrassing things under them, but it's always because she chooses to, for the money that she's getting or for some other reason. Under this loss, she could protest and complain all she wanted, but when push came to shove she would literally be incapable of refusing. This would deliver quite a big blow, as she prides herself on being independent and self-sufficient. She would do her best to make sure that no one knew that her loss compelled her to obey orders, but even if it never came out, she'd know, and that would be almost as bad.
(A caveat: I really don't think this is something that would ever come up, but just to preemptively avoid any seriously uncomfortable situations, I'd like to request one exception: that she be able to refuse if there's a sexual or romantic component to the request. Again, I doubt it would happen, but just in case!)
ABOUT THE CHARACTER:
Shego is a self-identified villain, which is something that's pretty easy to be on her world. The whole show is kind of a parody of hero-villain relationship archetypes-- crime-fighting can be completely out in the open (though some do choose to take advantage of disguises and alternate identities for their own purposes), and villainy is a profession that is in many ways just like any other-- its workers have their own magazines, unions, temp agencies, and so on. Most of the time, Shego works as a sidekick, usually for a man named Dr. Drakken, who is obsessed with taking over the world. In many ways, she's a typical Kim Possible-style villain, but there is something very atypical about her history: she used to be a hero.
Used to be, however, is the operative term here. She has no interest in returning to to a life of do-gooding, and as far as she's concerned, the less people that know about that part of her life, the better. She got into it in the first place at the behest of her brothers, who all received superpowers at the same time that she did (which was when they were children, and a comet struck the tree house that they were playing in together), and together formed Team Go ( Shego's name is actually an alias left over from her crimefighting days-- her brothers' aliases are Hego, Mego, and Wego-- and her real one is unknown). However, fighting villainy caused her to become drawn to it, and this coupled with general feelings of annoyance towards her brothers caused her to quit the team and switch sides entirely. It's hinted that she doesn't truly hate her brothers and that she doesn't have the stomach to betray them more than she already has-- for example, when she was temporarily in control of a device that allowed her to steal all of their powers, more than one person pointed out that it was uncharacteristically easy for the heroes to nab said device and give all the powers back. However, this is really left up to interpretation, and even if it is true that doesn't mean that she'll be doing them any favors under normal circumstances. She doesn't even seem to respect them as foes, the way she does with Kim Possible.
We know very little of what went on in her life after leaving Team Go (or, for that matter, what went on in her life before leaving Team Go). She went to college somewhere along the line, and got a degree in child development. She also wracked up quite the rap sheet; by her first appearance on the show, she's already wanted in eleven different countries. As mentioned before, she spends most of her time during the series working as Dr. Drakken's sidekick. Dr. Drakken is somewhat of a bumbler, something that Shego delights in pointing out at every opportunity. She doesn't pay him or his evil plots much respect (to be fair, the plots are usually pretty ridiculous), but somehow, they do usually work well together-- he comes up with the zany schemes, she does the grunt work, and when it inevitably fails, they go off to Karaoke Night together (or more accurately, Drakken drags her to Karaoke Night and she sulks and snarks the whole time). While Shego does some side work for other villains, the only time when she really breaks away from Drakken is during the middle of the fourth season, when she makes the decision to take a "vacation" from him and leaves the guy sitting on his hands in prison for several episodes. As mentioned, Shego is just a sidekick, which means that she tends to be the one following orders, not the one giving them. However, this should not be mistaken for unintelligence on her part. She may not be a genius, but she's pretty quick and witty, consistently delivering some of the cleverest lines in the series. Her solo capers tend to be fairly simple and straight-forward, but then again, that means that they're much more likely to succeed than Dr. Drakken's complicated and over-the-top schemes. Her motivations are also a bit different: while she can and does get fired up about cool doomsday devices or awesome ways to destroy the world, she honestly doesn't seem like the kind of person who would ultimately enjoy complete planet-wide decimation (in the finale of the show, she even helps prevent a team of aliens from doing it themselves). While she obviously greatly enjoys villainy, money is also a primary motivation for her. She likes to live in high style, spending her time off sunbathing, going to the spa, or even taking trips to expensive and exotic hotels abroad (where she often picks up hunky foreign men). Global chaos might sound fun in theory, but destroying Earth would also mean destroying all those cool spas in Greece, and she likes those spas. This might be another reason why she tends to stick with Dr. Drakken, whose plots are usually more focused on taking over the world rather than destroying it.
Personality-wise, one of the most obvious things about her is that she's kind of a sarcastic asshole. Only her mood affects whether the "sarcastic" or "asshole" part is more emphasized, and she's often in a bad one. She can be affable at times-- even with enemies!-- but that shouldn't be mistaken for genuine niceness, and it doesn't take much for her to start throwing her powers around. Fights with her arch-nemesis Kim Possible generally involve banter of some sort, and there have even been times when they've stopped fighting for a moment or two to commiserate, usually about the things their goofy partners get up to. When the moment's over, though, they're back to trying to destroy each other.
Despite all this, every once in a while she displays a surprising amount of... not quite compassion, but at least concern. She clearly cares about Dr. Drakken to some degree, and while there are certainly times that she won't lift a finger to help him (usually when whatever mess he's in is his own damn fault), she does safe his life more than once over the course of the series. On very rare occasions, this behavior is extended towards strangers (typically innocent bystanders) as well. During a campaign to drain the Great Lakes, she wants to know what will happen to all the fish that live in the water; when she's told that it doesn't matter, she shoots back, "It matters if you're a fish". In a later episode, she expresses disapproval multiple times when Dr. Drakken and his also-villainous cousin plan to steal a handicapped kid's high-tech wheelchair so that they can harvest it for parts. However, it should be noted that she apparently doesn't care enough to do anything beyond saying that somebody is stooping too low; in neither example does she make any attempt to actually stop them, and after the deed is done she carries on as normal.
ABILITIES:
As I said before, Shego and her brothers all got superpowers when they were kids-- and hers was far and away the most destructive. She can spontaneously generate fiery plasma from her hands, which she can use for a variety of purposes, such as melting, cutting, and minor explosions. She seems to be able to control the level of its damage; it hits people and causes no noticeable wounds, and yet she can use it to cut through iron and metal (though this might just be a "KP is a kids' cartoon and we can't have the heroes being messily burned to death" thing, honestly).
Even without her superpowers, Shego is a formidable foe. She's very strong, lithe, and agile, which helps her with thievery in a way that green plasma bursts can't. She's good at both offensive and defensive fighting, and utilizes them both pretty much equally in fights. It's also worth mentioning that in canon, she can not only survive things that would kill or severely injure an ordinary human, but she can walk away from them with little more than a few scratches. However, her doing this is never remarked upon as odd, it's never explained how she manages it, and several other characters-- including those without superpowers-- are shown to be able to do the same thing. Therefore, I tend to just chalk it up to a quirk of the cartoon medium, rather than any sort of real invulnerability power. If I'm accepted, she won't be any stronger or more durable than the average human in-game. She's very good at what she does, but she's not godtier level by any means, and she's perfectly capable of being defeated.
THIRD-PERSON WRITING SAMPLE:
First things first, this castle? Not so bad once you got used to it. Oh sure, it threw you off a little at first, what with it being a pandimensional vortex and all, but then you discovered the pool. It was really impossible to hate it after that, even if the ghostly servants did take some getting used to.
So Shego adapted. Luckily, that was something that she was good at; in her line of work, she kind of had to be. And it didn't take long for her to set up a system similar to what she'd had at home. She technically didn't have to work because Paradisa gave her everything she needed, but she still kept an open, somewhat under-the-table mercenary-for-hire thing going on. She spent her days training, running jobs (sometimes for other people, sometimes for herself-- just because the castle could give her an exact replica of that neato diamong necklace that one resident always wore didn't mean that it wasn't more fun to steal it herself), and, of course, relaxing. The Four Seasons room was a beach two days a week. The pool was always open. And her room had been outfitted to look like a swanky New York penthouse. Life was good. She wasn't in any hurry to leave.
That wasn't to say that she never thought about home. She even missed it, sometimes. There were times when she'd be running through the obstacle course at Insolitus and she'd wonder if Kimmy was bored without a Shego to fight. Occasionally, when helping out some mook with a plot, she'd roll her eyes and think that even Dr. D. could come up with something better (and more interesting; at least his ideas were always interesting) than this. Sometimes, she even thought about her brothers, as icky as that made her feel. So it wasn't like she had forgotten about Earth.
But until she was sent back? There was no way she wasn't going to enjoy all this while it lasted.

INTENT: I love her in canon, and while playing her takes me out of my comfort zone a little bit because I don't normally do wit very well, I'm enjoying trying! I chose Paradisa because I've been in the game before (once for about a year, and more recently just for a few months), and I like how the slice-of-life setting allows people to do a wide variety of stuff with their characters. Ideally, she'll be able to get together with some other villains; if I'm accepted, my intro will be her advertising her services as a sidekick. However, if that doesn't work out for whatever reason, that's okay too! She'd have fun lounging by the pool and doing some solo thievery stuff (with permission of other players where applicable, of course), and I'm sure I'd be able to find other things for her to get into.
Also, as a note: I've never played a character like this in Para before and I'm not quite sure if there's any sort of imprisonment system still in use, but if I get in with her, I'll be totally okay with Shego being caught and punished for pulling shit.
